愛知県犬山市出身。

高校・大学時代をアメリカで過ごす。

幼少期から歌うことが好きで、アマチュアロックバンドでボーカルを担当。

ある日突然「ジャズを歌いたい」という衝動に駆られ、ジャムセッションに参加しながら、ジャズピアニストの後藤浩二に師事。

ジャズを歌い始めてから1年後の2019年に初めてジャズライブのステージに立つ。

その後、名古屋の老舗ジャズクラブであるStar EyesやSwingなどを中心に積極的に活動を続けている。

在米経験で培った英語力を活かし、曲の情景や感情を細やかに表現することを得意としている。

Born in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture, Yumi Kamei spent her high school and college years in the United States.

She has loved singing since childhood and was once the lead vocalist in an amateur rock band.

One day, she was suddenly inspired by a strong desire to sing jazz and began participating in jam sessions, eventually studying under renowned jazz pianist Koji Goto.

A year after embarking on her journey into jazz singing, she took the stage for her first live jazz performance in 2019.

Since then, she has been actively performing at prominent jazz clubs in Nagoya, including Star Eyes and Jazz Spot Swing.

Drawing on the English skills she developed during her time in the U.S., Yumi excels at conveying the emotional depth and vivid imagery of a song with exceptional nuance.
